Welcome!

Hi, I’m Anita (she/her) and think of me as your Grind Guide.

I’m not a world-class expert – just an at-home barista documenting my journey through every bag of beans to help you dial in your next perfect cup.

I started blogging a few years ago, but I decided to start Coffee Log after navigating a very necessary season of growth and chaos in my 20s. Eventually I found my footing, I found my voice, and most importantly, I grew into my love of making, drinking and talking about coffee.

Why Coffee Log?

Every morning, I cannot wait to go through the process of making my coffee. It isn’t just looking for a caffeine fix; it is a peaceful ritual.

I have always made notes of my coffee and I thought why not share that information? Coffee Log is a place for us to celebrate and appreciate the breadth and depth of the Coffea plant.

What you’ll find at Coffee Log:
  • Origin: tracing every coffee from farm to roaster.
  • Tasting Notes: my takes on flavour, body, acidity and finish.
  • Gear: the tools I used to dial in the coffee.
  • Parameters: the “nerdy” stuff – ratios, temperatures, and timing.
  • Thoughts: honest reflections on coffee culture and the lessons I’ve learnt.

My Quiet Dream

I have a small dream – to work in speciality coffee.

I imagine working in a quiet space where the sounds and smells of coffee meet the warm crackling of a spinning vinyl in rotation. It’s a sanctuary where music is just as curated as the coffee on offer. Until then, this blog will act as an equally quiet space for us to practice, share and discuss the meditative process of drinking and making coffee.

I look forward to connecting with you. 🤎
